Accessibility

Foundation · Level 1 · Level 2 · Level 3

Draft — not yet final. This is an honest draft statement, not a certification of compliance. The provider must confirm an accessibility contact and review the published website and each course resource before launch.

Our aim

We want parents and carers to be able to use this website and its learning materials, including the free Foundation course and Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 when available. We aim to improve accessibility in line with WCAG 2.2 AA, but have not completed an independent accessibility audit or established full conformance.

Website provisions

The website includes features intended to support access:

  • A skip-to-content link and labelled navigation.
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators and labelled account fields.
  • Expandable FAQ questions and text-based learning content.
  • A layout that adapts to different screen sizes.
  • Reduced animation when your device requests reduced motion.

Known limitations and checks still needed

A full keyboard, screen-reader, zoom and contrast review is still required, including sign-up, sign-in, password reset and the learner checklist. The floral background and previously saved colour preferences may affect contrast; readable text should take priority over decorative colour choices.

The Foundation workbook is a printable PDF (39 A4 pages) designed for writing by hand. It has selectable text, a contents page and bookmarks for each section, but it has not been tested with screen readers and is not a tagged, fully accessible PDF. The full text of every module, including the worked scenarios and optional activities, is also available as web pages through the Foundation course page. Please get in touch if you need it in another format. Completion certificates are not yet issued automatically. The Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 workbooks are also printable PDFs with selectable text, a contents page and bookmarks; they are not tagged PDFs and have not been tested with screen readers. Every lesson in those courses is also available as web pages to learners with access, and every diagram has a written description.

No claim is made that every part of the website or every future resource currently meets WCAG 2.2 AA.

Course resources and alternative formats

The Foundation workbook, and any future downloads, should still be reviewed for PDF reading order, tags, headings, text selection, image descriptions and contrast. Any future audio or video learning should be reviewed for captions, transcripts and other appropriate alternatives.

If a format presents a barrier, email truaminformedparenting@yahoo.com. Explain the material involved, the barrier and the format or adjustment that would help. Do not include sensitive details about a child. We will reply within 2 working days (48 hours, Monday to Friday) and agree an alternative arrangement with you.

Report an access problem

For accessibility enquiries, email truaminformedparenting@yahoo.com. The contact form also stores enquiries, but email notifications are not active yet. The provider should review reports and explain what can be done, including reasonable adjustments where applicable.
